Don't Miss Out!

Each brother that raised a hand and volunteered to help; who spent time planning; who spent time working; and who spent time attending events has my respect and gratitude.  If you haven’t attended an event, or volunteered to work an event I feel you are missing out on something.

I know we each have busy lives. Between church, family, work, and other activities we have many commitments of our time.  If you have been waiting to volunteer, but have hesitated because you are unsure what the requirement will be in terms of time and effort, try to give an hour and see what you think about it.

Every Knight should volunteer some of their time to help their Church and their council.  Charity is, after all, our first principle.  Remember that true charity is found in action.  Remember also that helping your Church and your council is really helping yourself.

Bearing in mind the principle of Charity, let us each try to contact one brother this month and invite him back to a meeting.  Let us each try to find one Catholic man to talk with about the Knights.  You don’t have to sell the Knights of Columbus - just tell them about the work done by our order.

Let us each try and help a First or Second Degree brother move up in the degrees.  Let us each volunteer at our parish or chapel.  Tell your friends what you did when you volunteered.  Tell your family what you did when you volunteered.  Tell yourself how you felt when you experienced the warming of your heart from Charity.  Spread the word about Charity.  Spread Charity through your actions.
