40 Days of Lent & 40 Days for Life

I was so excited about this message from David Bereit. I want to share this with you. Please share this with your email list and encourage people to pray for the 40 Days of Lent. Come and pray at the abortion clinic as well. Even though we will not organize the 24 hour prayer vigil, your prayers are still needed.

In just a few days -- beginning on Wednesday, February 6 -- the pro-life movement is going to explode with new activity and excitement as 59 cities in 31 states launch the most intensive pro-life campaign in history: 40 Days for Life.

People of faith and conscience across America will be uniting for:

40 DAYS of prayer and fasting for an end to the tragic injustice of abortion
40 DAYS of constant, peaceful vigil outside Planned Parenthood and other abortion centers
40 DAYS of pro-life community outreach

A Planned Parenthood CEO sent out a press release about 40 Days for Life, stating "We know from past experience that these rallies and prayer vigils create barriers that deter our patients."

And many pro-life leaders are now saying that this focused effort could be the "tipping point" that will mark the beginning of the end of abortion in our nation.

We also are thrilled to announce that, for the first time, other countries will be joining with the United States for a unified 40 Days for Life campaign -- Ireland and Brazil will be conducting 40 Days for Life alongside America from February 6 to March 16. WOW!

The level of enthusiasm about this 40 Days for Life is unprecedented, and it couldn't come at a more crucial time.

Consider these breaking developments of just the last few weeks...

1.) On January 7, the Los Angeles Times ran a front-page news story about how abortion hurts men and reported that many post- abortive men are now coming forward and speaking out against abortion. Read more at http://snipurl.com/1yu56

2.) On January 16, media outlets across the country cited a new study from Planned Parenthood's research arm, the Guttmacher Institute, reporting that the abortion rate in the USA has fallen to its lowest point in more than 30 years, and the actual number of abortions also continues a steady decline. 3.) On January 19, a record crowd of more than 25,000 faithful people filled the streets of San Francisco to peacefully protest the evil of abortion. Read more at http://www.walkforlifewc.com

4.) On January 22, media outlets reported on the growing number of youth who are opposed to abortion, and the huge crowds of young people at the March for Life in Washington, D.C., and at numerous state Roe v. Wade memorial events, demonstrated this reality. Read more at http://snipurl.com/1yu5j

5.) On January 22, two former leaders of national abortion organizations, Kate Michelman from NARAL and Frances Kissling from "Catholics" for a Free Choice, wrote an editorial for the Los Angeles Times, admitting that the pro-life movement is systematically winning, and revealing the many failings of the abortion industry and its advocates. 6.) Also on January 22, Carlton Veazey, the CEO of the "Religious" Coalition for Reproductive Choice, described the abortion industry as being at a "point of crisis." He frankly acknowledged that America is "on the brink of abandoning" abortion, and that "at least 17 states are sounding the death knell" for the Roe v. Wade decision. 7.) On January 30, abortion proponent Rudy Giuliani's campaign imploded, forcing him to withdraw from the presidential race.

8.) Numerous states, including Georgia, Colorado, and South Dakota, are right now in the midst of launching heroic new pro-life measures.

The tide is clearly shifting in favor of life, and we must seize the initiative at this vital moment to finish the job we've started.
